Your Stay With Us

The atmosphere of the farm creates a sense of authentic community. The Ceremony Room is serene, spacious and light, with large windows to connect with the nature around you. During your retreat you can use the Boszaal (forest room) as a living room, meet at the large wooden tables, or make yourself cozy in the sitting areas. If it is a bit cooler, you can enjoy a fire in the wood stove. The kitchen is fully equipped, but you can also leave the care entirely to us. Coffee and tea are always ready for you.

Retreat to your private room for some luxurious serenity. Every bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom. If you’d like to relax completely at the end of the day, feel free to use the sauna, wellness lounge or rest in comfortable lounge chairs.

Wander through the beautiful nature trails in the 32-acre green estate in the heart of a Dutch forest and fields of heather.

Team & History

These two historic farmhouses were built from 1836 to 1848 by Anton Sinkel, founder of the Shops of Sinkel.

Around 1912, the farms were rebuilt by the Pijnappel family who, from their great social heart, allowed working girls to take a break here. In the years that followed, various groups of people found a place here for 'spiritual deliberation, formation and reflection', entirely according to the wishes of Miss Pijnappel, who left De Hoorneboeg to the Remonstrant Brotherhood.

After the sale to Stichting Buitenplaats De Hoorneboeg in 2018, the farms were beautifully renovated, offering a warm welcome for you to experience a place of reflection on your retreat.
