“This stands alone as one of the most important experiences of my life.” - Jacob, USA

At Synthesis, we’ve seen how a psychedelic retreat can lead to transformational healing, creative breakthroughs, and life-changing personal growth.

Many people could benefit from a safe guided psychedelic experience, but not everyone has the means to afford a retreat. For that reason, we think it is our responsibility to make our retreats accessible.

We believe that integrating psychedelics into society successfully and legally is crucial.

We believe that access to psychedelics should be available to the people who could benefit most, regardless of their current financial situation.

That’s why we offer both full and partial scholarships to attend Synthesis Retreats. We review applications on a case-by-case basis, and so far since we opened in 2018, we’ve given nearly 100 scholarships to people in need. Our work doesn’t stop there; we are committed to providing support to as many people as possible.

Donate to Support others

Since we were founded in 2018, we’ve given over $100,000 of scholarship value to participants. The ongoing success of the Scholarship Fund depends on donations from kind people like you.

By donating to the program, you will be directly helping people in need to improve their lives and benefit from a safe, legal and professionally-facilitated psychedelic experience with us.

Thank you for your generosity.

Please note that because you are contributing to an individual’s attendance on a Synthesis retreat, your donation will not be tax deductible. If you have any specific questions about this, or are interested in making larger contributions to our scholarship fund, please contact us directly.

How to apply for the Synthesis Scholarship Fund

If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please note the following. In the past, we’ve given scholarships to individuals who:

  1. Have financial need. We will ultimately prioritize applicants who would not be able to afford to attend the retreat without a scholarship.

  2. Are historically underrepresented in the psychedelic community. We accept people who will bring a diversity of perspectives, background, and experience to the retreat.

  3. Demonstrate a willingness to talk about psychedelics among the larger community. We are looking for applicants who want to apply what they learn to their personal development, work, studies, or in their community. We’re looking for people to help educate others on the benefits of safe, professional experiences and, as Rick Doblin calls it, ‘come out of the psychedelic closet’.

If a candidate feels they may be applicable to receive help, they are asked to determine their suitability for the Scholarship Fund in their Exploration Call with their Guide.

Successful applicants will be notified via email, and the level of support we are able to offer will be made clear upon the awarding of a scholarship.

  • The applicant will be given the opportunity to choose a retreat date that works for them, depending on availability.
  • Currently, the cost of transportation and flights to/from Amsterdam is not included in any scholarship.

Scholarships and financing are available at the discretion of Synthesis and depend on the number of retreat participants and funding from donors.

We will try to benefit as many people as possible, and this may mean that we can only offer partial scholarships to some applicants.
